You've Still Got a Friend: A Musical Tribute to the Lives and Friendship of Carole King & James Taylor
Theatrical Scenic Artwork & Key Art for a GFOUR Productions World Premiere
GFOUR Productions · World Premiere at Theatre By The Sea · August 2026
Danielle Rose Fisher created the original theatrical scenic artwork and key art for GFOUR Productions' world premiere of You've Still Got a Friend — a musical tribute to the 50-year friendship between Carole King and James Taylor. The production is conceived and directed by three-time Tony Award winner Seth Greenleaf for Tony Award-winning GFOUR Productions, running at Theatre By The Sea in Wakefield, RI, August 20 – September 13, 2026. As a watercolor scenic artist and entertainment illustrator, Danielle brings the same fashion-forward, hand-painted sensibility she applies to brand work to custom artwork for theater productions — proof that her range scales from product to stage. Her key art is the production's program cover and appears across its marketing materials — including BroadwayWorld's coverage of the show.
The work
Danielle hand-painted more than 60 original watercolor illustrations for the show's backdrops, each composed at 16:9 video aspect ratio and digitally scanned for animation. Painted in the same visual language as the show's key art, the illustrations were then brought to life on stage through video projection — highly emotional and expressive, hand-painted work scaled and animated into the world of the production.
